PATIKUL, Sulu — Soldiers conducted a community outreach program in Brgy Tugas morning of September 12, 2020.

The troops of 45th Infantry Battalion, 12th CMO Battalion, and 15th CMO Battalion collaborated with the National Food Authority (NFA), the Kabalikat Civicom and Youth Leaders of Sulu in distributing toys to the children from Barangay Tugas, Maligay , Liang,Bangkal and Sandah.
They also conducted a feeding program and a Psycho-social Intervention that brought joy to the children.
















Lieutenant Colonel Rey David A. Taqueban, 12th Civil-Military Operations Battalion Commanding Officer, gave a message during the activity. He emphasized the vulnerabilities of the young generation in the recruitment of the lawless elements.

Additionally, NFA Officer-in-Charge Jeanet Abtuh said, “Our new generation plays an essential role in achieving the lasting peace.”

The community in Brgy Tugas is one of the many communities that were displaced due to the terrorist acts of Abu Sayyaf bandits. They are now back to their community due to the concerted efforts of the military, the local government agencies, and other concerned stakeholders through the Balik Barangay Program.
