The people of Barangay Nangka, Bayawan are absolutely disgusted and outraged by the events that took place last August 3, 2020: The PA 11th IB have stepped up their psychological warfare and civil military operations, recently innovating their underhanded devices to lure the masses into psywar traps; adding to their repertoire of faked and staged surrenders, by virtue of their Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP), the fascist dogs have now employed the dirty trick of promising livelihood packages, as part of their program “Pangkabuyahan sa Pag Bangon at Ginhawa,” to bait 120 unsuspecting farmers into attending a so called “peace rally.”
All in expected correspondence with the RCSP framework, the shameful activity–held at Nangka Agrarian Reform Farmers Association (NARFA) site, Sitio Ondol, Barangay Nangka, Bayawan–was orchestrated by the PA 11th IB, in coordination with national government agencies, most notably the Department of Trade and Industry, and the local municipal and barangay Task Forces-ELCAC, and local government units. In notable attendance were PA 11th IB commander Ramir Redosendo; Mr. Jonas Trias, representative of Bayawan Peace and Order Council; Bayawan City Mayor Pryde Teves; PLT Tomas Tanutan, Deputy Bayawan Police Station; Mrs. Elena Taburada, Department of Agriculture representative; Ms. Cindy Salimbagat, City Public Safety Office; Ms. Janette Behagan, Municipal Agrarian Reform Office (MARO); and Barangay Council headed by Hon. Cadalso.
Once again, the DTI’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pag Bangon at Ginhawa livelihood packages – livestock, feeds, pigs, compressors for vulcanizing, grocery goods to open up a sari-sari store, and fertilizers among others – were used as bait, as a pretext for luring in the 120 unsuspecting farmers into attending the obviously staged activity, complete with burning of CPP-NPA flags and sloppily done tarpaulins and plackards condemning the revolutionary movement.
The beguiled farmers were made to take part in the oath of allegiance, and signing of a large banner of the Barangay Resolution declaring the CPP-NPA as Persona Non Grata by Roel Cadalso, Chairperson of Barangay Nangka.
Despite all the trickery and grand displays, black propaganda, pompous pronouncements, and inter-agency collaboration among various units of the reactionary government, there is nothing in the GRP’s arsenal of vile schemes that can conceal the reality that the prevailing objective conditions are ever favorable for a radical change in the oppressive system that plagues the Filipinos; that the COVID-19 pandemic has helped to more fully expose the utter rotteness of the neocolonial big comprador-landlord state, the severity of the ever worsening political-economic crisis; and that the Revolutionary People’s Democratic Government — consisting of organs of democratic power, the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) as the leading party, the New People’s Army (NPA), and the mass organizations in the countryside, has been, over the past decades, steadily gaining strength, and is many times stronger than it was during the pangs of the Marcos fascist dictatorship, is cherished by the masses of peasants and workers, and enjoys the broad support of the Filipino people — will inevitably seize political power in the Philippines.
