Baler, Aurora – In response to the request of Aurora Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Hon Board Member Mary Jane Donato, the 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion, 7th Infantry (Kaugnay) Division, Philippine Army under the leadership of LTC REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA provided manpower and transportation assistance during the hauling of three hundred (300) pcs of Hygiene Kits from the Office of DSWD RO3 San Fernando City, Pampanga to Baler, Aurora on 17 July 2020.
The said hygiene kits will be distributed to the IP communities in Aurora in support to COVID-19 pandemic and part of the effort and services of the Office of Aurora IPMR to attend the needs of the IPs and her constituents.
Hon Donato expressed her gratitude to the SINAGTALA troopers for providing two (2) military trucks and helping them in loading and unloading of said medical items.
Related to this, additional request of transportation and manpower assistance was requested by Hon Donato to this unit for the hauling of two hundred (200) pieces of hygiene kits to be distributed in the IP communities at Brgys of Umiray, Ibona, Matawe and Butas na Bato, all of Dingalan, Aurora on 24 July 2020.
Meanwhile, LTC RUBIO appreciated the IPMR leader for tapping the unit to assist them. “Since January this year, we have been helping the IPs in Aurora through our Enhance Adopt-a-Brgy Program “Kapwa Ko, Sagot Ko” amidst COVID-19 pandemic. We need to address and resolve their issues and concerns because they are very vulnerable to NPA exploitation”, RUBIO said.
BGEN ANDREW D COSTELO PA, Commander, 703rd Infantry Brigade, 7ID, PA commended the 91IB for such passion in helping the marginalized sector especially the IPs. “I have directed my line units to continue working with the LGUs, NGAs, and other stakeholders in the delivery of basic services particularly those in the far-flung Brgys and IP communities”, COSTELO said.
