Kalinaw News: Army’s 91IB conducts Send-Off Ceremony on Community Support Program

Baler, Aurora – In line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s implementation of Executive Order No. 70 and NTF-ELCAC to provide an efficient mechanism and structure in the implementation of the Whole-of-Nation Approach, the 91st Infantry (Sinagtala) Battalion headed by LTC REANDREW P RUBIO INF (GSC) PA, spearheaded the Community Support Program (CSP) Send-Off ceremony at the Municipal Gym of Maria Aurora, Aurora on 02 June 2020.

The send-off ceremony was successfully conducted with the presence of Barangay Captains headed by ABC President Hon. Maria Elena F. Nicer, Mr. Amado Angara, MLGOO, PNP Maria Aurora and the Municipal Mayor of Maria Aurora Hon. Amado M. Geneta.

After the simple ceremony, CMO personnel of 91IB distributed leaflets on ECLIP and COVID-19 health protocols and other precautionary measures.

A total of four (4) CSP teams who are trained on Community Support Program will be deployed in the Barangays of Diaat, Bazal, Cadayakan, and Bayanihan, all of Maria Aurora, Aurora purposely to identify issues being exploited by the Communist Terrorist Groups and facilitate the resolution of that issues in coordination with local government unit (LGU) and other government agencies.

“The deployment of CSP teams in the said barangays will basically support in the dismantling of Komiteng Larangang Guerilla (KLG) Sierra Madre and will facilitate the peace and development efforts of the LGU.

We will be actively engaging the local residents in the area to win back their support to the government through the intervention of different government agencies,” LTC RUBIO said.

Likewise, COL ANDREW D COSTELO INF (GSC) PA, Commander, 703rd Brigade, 7ID, PA, commended the SINAGTALA troopers for successfully initiating the send- off ceremony through the continuing support of the Local Government Unit and other government agencies.

“The conduct of send-off ceremony signifies that the troops are well-accepted by the local officials especially the Barangay Officials prior to their immersion in the Barangay. My CSP teams will eventually contribute to the peace and security concerns towards lasting peace and development not only in Maria Aurora but also in the whole province,” COSTELO said.
