An Armed Lawless Group (ALG) leader and his followers were neutralized by military troops in Sultan Kudarat.
Troops of the Joint Task Force Central through the 40th Infantry Battalion under Lt. Col. Rogelio S. Gabi launched a law enforcement operation targetting ALG commander Tugali Guiamal Galmak, a.k.a. Commander Tugali, in Purok Galmak, Barangay Baumol, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat on June 4, 2020.
“When our troops reached the area at 6:29 in the morning, our target was reinforced with more or less 20 fully armed men from Barangay Langgapanan,” said Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, JTF Central Commander.
Firefight ensued which resulted in the deaths of 5 enemies and wounding of 9 others.
Said encounter further resulted in the apprehension of 15 more ALG members, including Commander Tugali, seizure of 15 firearms, explosives and IEDs.
“Congratulations to the troops of the Joint Task Force Central, led by my mistah Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, for your numerous gains that greatly contributed to the mission accomplishment of the command,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, WestMinCom Commander.
“Carry on your good work for the peace-loving people of Central Mindanao and for our beloved country,” the commander added.
“Tugali is an ALG commander and a former member of Pentagon/KFRG operating in Central Mindanao,” said Col Joel Mamon OIC, 601st Infantry Brigade.
