Kalinaw News: CPP-NPA declared Persona Non Grata in Kitaotao, Bukidnon

BUNAWAN DISTRICT, Davao City – – A Peace –Building Seminar (PBS) initiated by the 3rd Infantry Battalion in partnership with LGU of Kitaotao, Bukidnon concluded on Sunday, December 8 with the declaration of CPP-NPA-NDF as Persona Non Grata by residents of Brgy Sinuda and Brgy Kipilas of Kitaotao, Bukidnon.

A total of 426 participants underwent the 3-day Peace Building Seminar(PBS) composed of Former Rebels (FRs), Milisya ng Bayan members (MBs), former Underground Mass Organization members (UGMOs) and former mass supporters and sympathizers.

During the closing program, the residents led by the Barangay Council members of the two barangays and the Matigsalog-Manuvo Tribal Council of Elders collectively declared the CPP-NPA-NDF as Persona Non Grata in their communities.

The declaration was solidified through the conduct of an Oath of Allegiance to the Government through the Panunumpa sa Pagsalikway sa CPP-NPA, symbolic signing of Denouncement of the CPP-NPA-NDF tarpaulin, burning of the CPP-NPA flags and the conduct of “Pakang”, a sacred ritual wherein the Matigsalog-Manuvo took an Oath of cutting all forms of support to the CPP-NPA-NDF.

Hon Lorenzo A Gawilan, Mayor of Kitaotao; Sangguniang Bayan members and all municipal Dept Heads attended the opening ceremony of said PBS as they formed part of the TF ELCAC or Whole of Nation Approach(WNA) in the delivery of services to the vulnerable communities.

A medical and dental outreach dubbed “Gasa para sa Katawhan” in partnership with the Kitaotao LGU was conducted during the last day of PBS which benefited 990 individuals in different services such as medical treatment, dental extraction, corn and vegetable seeds distribution, PhilHealth Registration and information drive by the MSWD.

Colonel Nolasco A Mempin, Commander of the 1003rd Infantry (Raptor) Brigade welcomed this peace-building activity and hope that others will follow suit the stance made by these Kitaotao residents.
