Six members of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in Masbate on Wednesday, a belated report showed.

The former rebels yielded one M16 rifle, one .45 caliber pistol, and one .38 caliber pistol.

A PCG station in Masbate led by Lt. Edgardo Aguilar turned over the former rebels to Joint Task Force Bicolandia Commander Major General Fernando Trinidad of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) at Sitio Baclay, Barangay Bacolod, Milagros, Masbate.

The surrenderers received monetary assistance and will be enrolled in the government’s Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

PCG said they will receive training and livelihood programs from various government agencies to make them productive members of society.
