SPOKESPERSON
NPA-QUEZON
APOLONIO MENDOZA COMMAND
NEW PEOPLE'S ARMY
NOVEMBER 10, 2019
We deny the statement of the AFP that three NPA guerilla fighters were killed in an encounter last November 5 in Mauban, Quezon. NPA snipers indeed launched military operations in Mauban in Brgy. Cagsiay II wherein one AFP soldier was confirmed KIA.
There were also two encounters in Brgy. Abo-Abo and Cagsiay II wherein casualties are both from the side of AFP and there is no casualty on the guerilla side. We are calling on the Commission on Human Rights to investigate the incident because there is a big possiblity that the slain “guerillas” are actually civilians and farmer residents in the area.
In South-Quezon and Bondoc Peninsula, series of NPA military actions were launched from the month of September to November that left heavy blows against the 85th IBPA, including the six KIA in Brgy. San Pablo Suha, Catanauan Quezon.
We also deny the baseless accusations of the 201st Brigade that there were nearby civilians in the latest military action of the red fighters in Barangay Sta. Rosa in Lopez. In addition, NPA is not violating the “Mine Ban Treaty of 1997” by using land-mines. The NPA is using the command detonated explosives which are not covered by the pact.
The NPA is always ensuring the safety of civilian lives in places such as schools, churches, barangay public premises, churches, and other public facilities. On the contrary, Digong Duterte considered the populace as mere collateral damage of war.
Furtheremore, it is the AFP’s indiscriminate firing and aerial bombardment targeting the farmers, women, indigenous people and children that should be considered as terroristic acts.#
