From MindaNews (Oct 4, 2019): ISIS sympathizers, including Swedish citizen, charged for S. Kudarat bombing

Multiple frustrated murder charges were slapped against a Swedish citizen and six Filipinos, most if not all of them ISIS sympathizers, in connection with the recent explosion in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat province that injured seven civilians, an official said Friday.

Brig. Gen. Alfred Corpus, Police Regional Office-12 director, said they filed Thursday the complaint before the Sultan Kudarat Prosecutor’s Office.

The suspects were charged for the September 7 explosion in front of the public market in Isulan town, the capital of Sultan Kudarat.

Five of the suspects have already been arrested while two are still at large.

Four of the suspects—Hassan Akgun (the Swedish), Normia Antao Camsa, Norshiya Joven Camsa and Abedin Camsa—were captured in Bagumbayan, Sultan Kudarat on September 23. Seized from the suspects were several firearms, bomb-making materials, and an ISIS flag, according to the military.

Kamlon Tongab Camsa, reportedly the vice chairman for military affairs of the Moro National Liberation Front Sabiwang State, was nabbed at a military checkpoint in this city also on the same day. Police said two hand grenades were seized from him.

Corpus said the five captured suspects were ISIS sympathizers.

The two other suspects included in the charge sheet—Rashid Joven Camsa and Maira Tungab Alimao—remain at large.

The police official urged the public to help authorities track down and arrest the two suspects.

“With your help and cooperation, we can effectively prevent these individuals from creating terror and panic among our community,” Corpus said.
