ILIGAN City--The Army’s 103rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army based in Marawi City will have its new officer-in-charge starting Friday, September 27.
This after Brigadier General Romeo Brawner, who was its brigade commander since December 5, 2018, is being ordered to assume as Commandant of Cadets of the Philippine Military Academy, replacing Brigadier General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro who resigned following the death of Cadet 4th Class Darwin Dormitorio in September 24.
In July 2017, Brawner was sent to Marawi, after his graduation from United States Army War College, to act as the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of the Philippines during the Marawi siege.
Brawner, of PMA Class 1989, said he received the order in September 24 to replace Bacarro’s post.
Following his relief, Deputy Brigade Commander Col. Jose Maria Cuerpo, of PMA Class 1990, will take over as officer-in-charge of 103rd Brigade starting September 27.
Cuerpo has been the brigade’s second highest official since June 1, 2017.
The 103rd Brigade has jurisdiction over Marawi City and the province of Lanao del Sur excluding Malabang, Balabagan, Kapatagan and Picong.
