Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command, checked on the conditions of military troops during his visit to the different units under the Joint Task Force ZamPeLan on September 25, 2019.
The WestMinCom commander also received updates on the security campaign against the communist terrorist and other lawless groups in the operational area in a series of conferences with ground commanders in ZamPeLan area.
“I exhort you to maintain your excellence, commitment, and diligence in order that we can sustain our unprecedented gains against private armed and communist groups. Let us not falter in keeping guard against those who sow terror and prey on the innocent,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana to the military troops.
Lt. Col. Leon Onggao, 42nd Infantry Battalion Commander, welcomed the WestMinCom commander and party at the Battalion headquarters in Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte at 8am on September 25.
“What we have accomplished must serve as our benchmark to carry on our internal security campaign against insurgents and terrorists who are now losing their grounds,” added Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
At 11am of same day, 102nd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Leonel Nicolas represented by Col Randolph M. Jose Sino Cruz, Officer-in-Charge welcomed him in Sanito, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay where he was given updates on the relentless offensives of the combat troops.
“I am here to personally see the morale and welfare of our frontline troops, more so to check if there are things that we can do to assist our soldiers in the field,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
The 97th Infantry Battalion troops, led by Lt. Col. John Andrada with Ltc Col. Ray Tiongson, Commanding Officer of 10th Infantry Battalion that covers the area of Misamis Occidental welcomed WestMinCom commander during his visit in Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte at 2:30pm same day.
“Your numerous feats bespeak of your unfailing dedication and bring a sense of pride and honor not only to the Armed Forces of the Philippines but also to our fellow Filipinos,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
“I am proud and elated to work and lead you in accomplishing our operational objectives and in bringing into reality the hopes of the people to attain genuine peace and sustainable development in Mindanao,” concluded Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
