Local and security leaders submitted their accomplishment reports and tackled the ongoing campaign against the local communist armed conflict in two Regional Peace and Order Council meetings on September 26.
The provinces of Cotabato, Sarangani, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, and General Santos presented their respective implementation plan for the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict in a discussion with security and local leaders in Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Jonathan Malaya, DILG undersecretary for Plans, Public Affairs and Communication, discussed the overall national ELCAC program.
Said meeting was held to bridge active support and participation of all stakeholders in formulating and advocating plans, policies, and programs for peace and development in the SOCCSKSAGEN region.
Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command, joined local chief executives and other security officials during the 3rd quarter RPOC meeting of Region XII at EMR Center in Koronadal City.
“The ELCAC implementation plan determines the action plans of the task forces in their campaign to address local communist armed conflict. The security sector will extend all cooperation and assistance to ensure that these implementation plans are well-executed and that our anti-insurgency campaign is efficient and effective,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
The WestMinCom chief also joined local leaders during the 2nd regular meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao at the Office of the Chief Minister in BARRM Compound, Cotabato City yesterday.
The Provincial Peace and Order Council of Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Lanao del Sur, and Maguindanao also submitted their accomplishment reports during the said meeting.
Abduraof Macacua, BARMM Minister of Environment, Natural Resources, and Energy, representing the BARMM RPOC led by Murad Ebrahim, graced the said meeting.
Macacua encouraged the rest of the council members to be an active partner in promoting peace and development in the Bangsamoro.
Security and local leaders also discussed the NTF-ELCAC, E-CLIP program, and security in Shariff Aguak, Pagatin, Mamasapano, and Salibo in Maguindanao and Lanao provinces.
“The synergy of efforts among sector leaders will always bear positive outcomes in as far as our security campaign is concerned, and this is evident in the development that we are seeing in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao,” said Lt. Gen. Sobejana.
