Soldiers and non-government organizations delivered basic and social services to 170 students of Madrasatul Ittihadiyah Al-Islamiyah in Upper Capiton, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on August 25.
Soldiers from 90th Infantry Battalion, Taga COTABATO ka kung Incorporated, Social Climbers, Inc., and Kutawato Kamera Klab distributed school supplies, dental kits, slippers, and learning materials to Madrasatul students.
Parlor games and supplementary food feeding were also conducted.
This is the first time for Madrasatul students to benefit from a joint outreach program.
“We yearn to help agencies and organizations across the country in reaching their goals towards national development efforts by alleviating poverty and by helping children in conflict-affected and far-flung areas in Mindanao,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command.
“This is all towards our common goal of realizing sustainable peace and development in Mindanao,” he added.
