An Armor-trained officer formally assumed his post as the new Task Force Zamboanga Commander yesterday, August 26.
Col. Antonio John Divinagracia succeeded Col. Leonel Nicolas, who took post as the commander of 102nd Infantry (Igsoon) Brigade based in Sanito, Ipil Zamboanga Sibugay last week.
A proud member of the Philippine Military Academy, Class of 1991, Divinagracia is an airborne, armor, and well-rounded military officer with expertise in operations, intelligence, and managerial acumen.
Divinagracia commanded the 1st Armor Battalion, Mechanized Infantry Division during the height of Zamboanga Siege in 2013.
He expressed his commitment in keeping the city secured and in promoting the city as one of the country’s tourist destination by partnering with and assisting the local government units and agencies.
Maj. Gen. Roberto Ancan, Joint Task Force Zampelan Commander, presided over the turnover ceremony held at the TFZ headquarters in this city.
“I have confidence in the leadership and capability of Col. Divinagracia. I know he will continue the accomplishments of his predecessors,” said Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of Western Mindanao Command.
