EDWIN ANDREWS AIRBASE, Zamboanga City (DWDD) – The Tactical Operations Command (TOC) conducted its first ever Search and Rescue Challenge 2018 January 23-25, 2018 at Edwin Andrews Air Base, Zamboanga City.
The said activity aimed to demonstrate and assess the disaster response capability and readiness of different EAAB Disaster Response Task (DRT) Team in preparation for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response related operations but also to the actual HADR Operations.
This activity is also one way to test and evaluate the unit’s knowledge and skills in HADR operations. This kind of endeavor is in line to the Commander, TOC’s guidance to continuously improve combat readiness and disaster response capability.
Likewise, the following were the winners of the TOC Search and Rescue (SAR) Challenge 2018:
CHAMPION – 530TH AIR BASE GROUP DRU TEAM ALPHA
1ST RUNNER-UP: 6TH ARCEN AND 723RD SOS
2ND RUNNER-UP: TOW WEST
3RD RUNNER-UP: 530TH AIR BASE GROUP DRU TEAM BRAVO
4TH RUNNER-UP: TACTICAL OPERATIONS COMMAND
