TO prepare for the arrival of President Rodrigo Duterte on Feb. 12, the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 conducted coordinating conferences with the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Central Command.
Supt. Reyman Tolentin, PRO 7 spokesperson, said that the president is expected to join the joint AFP-PNP command conference.
Tolentin said that Duterte may also spearhead the turnover of PNP mobile cars donated by Japan.
The Civil Disturbance Management personnel of the PRO 7 will also be on standby.
“Everything is being considered in terms of security like rallies or incidents that may harm the president,” Tolentin said.
Jaime Paglinawan-Bayan Muna Central Visayas said that they have yet to decide whether to hold a rally during Duterte’s visit. But if they do, they will raise issues like the abolition of the Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law and the alleged curtailment of rights of University of the Philippines students, among others. “We hope that he will hear the demands of Cebuanos,” he said.
