From GMA News (Aug 19): Elementary school teacher kidnapped by Abu Sayyaf freed in Sulu
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom) on Friday said the teacher abducted on August 16 by the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) was released the following day in Barangay Danag, Patikul, Sulu.
A news release of the Zamboanga City-based WestMinCom identified the kidnap victim as Adrina Bongil, a teacher from Tuup Elementary School.
The victim was reportedly abducted in Barangay Kan Ague, Patikul by four men armed with one M16 rifle, one M14 rifle, and one Caliber .45 gun. on Tuesday.
Upon her release the following day, she was brought to the residence of Mayor Kabir Elias Hayudini of Patikul, Sulu, where troops of the Joint Task Force Sulu met the victim to conduct a debriefing.
