From the Philippine News Agency (Jul 18): BRP Dagupan City, one of PN's disaster response ships, slated for dry-docking, repairs

The Philippine Navy (PN) is allocating the sum of PHP38,494,993.51 for the dry-docking and other related repairs for the BRP Dagupan City (LC-551), one of the military's largest humanitarian disaster response vessels.

Winning bidders are required to complete the service within 100 calendar days.

Pre-bid conference is scheduled on Friday, 8 a.m. at the Office of the PN Bids and Awards Committee Naval Station Jose Francisco, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, PN BAC Secretariat head Cmdr. Pablo O. Fuentebella said.

BRP Dagupan City's ship, the BRP Bacolod City (LC-550) are the two Bacolod City class logistics vessels which weighed 4,265 tons and were both commissioned in Dec. 1, 1993.

Both are use for troop transport and disaster response missions involving carrying of relief goods and personnel.
