Butuan City -- The 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division (4ID), Philippine Army here supports this year’s Oplan Broadcastreeing activity of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) Agusan del Norte-Butuan City Chapter set on August 6, 2016, 6:00 a.m. at Camp Bancasi planting site.

LTC Rey Pasco, executive director of 4ID Advance Command Post, Philippine Army of this city, said they are very willing to assist the KBP, along with other stakeholders in the tree planting activity.

"The 4th Civil Military Operations (Kasaligan) Battalion of 4ID, Philippine Army does not only seek to protect the lives and rights of the people, but also the environment where people lives. With this effort of the KBP, we strongly express our support and participation for this year's Broadcastreeing activity.

We have already prepared the planting site within the vicinity of Camp Bancasi," he underscored.

In a meeting with KBP, the said organizers finalized their plans and preparations for the “Broadcastreeing 2016.”

Broadcasters (tv and radio) in Butuan City and Agusan del Norte have expressed their commitment to participate in the tree planting activity. Other partner stakeholders from the government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society organizations and academe are also expected to join.

This year's broadcastreeing in the city is in partnership with the 4th CMO Battalion, Department of Environment and Natural Resources and Philippine Information Agency (PIA) Caraga.

The broadcastreeing is an annual simultaneous and nationwide tree planting activity in support to the government’s National Greening Program (NGP).
