More than 1,000 residents of barangay Impalutao benefited when soldiers of the army’s 8th Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division took part in the July 14, 2016 “Hatud Serbisyo” mission of the local government unit (LGU) of Impasugong town, Bukidnon held at the village’s covered court.

With the theme “Serbisyuhan ang katawhan ug panalipdan ang yutang natawhan (Serve the people, protect and defend homeland),” the ‘Hatud Serbisyo’ activity was organized by Impasugong LGU led by Mayor Anthony A. A mass wedding ceremony, where 17 couples said “I do”—through the holy sacrament of marriage—highlighted the event.

Army Lt Col Lennon G Babilonia, who led the soldiers in facilitating the activity said residents—mostly children—availed of free haircut services as well as the free medical and dental services jointly provided by the LGU and the 4th Infantry Division Dental Team led by Col Rafael A Jaramillo.

Some residents availed of other free services such as massage therapy, pedicure and manicure.

The soldiers also helped in facilitating the distribution of sacks of rice for the drought-affected villagers.

In a statement, Mayor Uy commended the unwavering efforts of the 8th Infantry Battalion in fulfilling their mission of serving the people.

The mayor underscored the importance of partnership among stakeholders in peace efforts so that the community can move a step closer towards achieving peace and development in the communities.

He also lauded the 8IB's Bayanihan Team activities that emphasize in the resolution of issues through working together to end the conflict
