Philippine Air Force (PAF) Lockheed C-130
"Hercules" cargo planes have started carrying food packs, generator
equipment and other essential relief items to help families severely affected
by Typhoon "Lando" in Baler and Casiguran towns in Aurora Wednesday morning.
Col. Enrico Canaya, PAF spokesperson, said the first C-130
cargo plane arrived Baler
Airport at 8 a.m. with
840 family food packs.
After unloading some of the relief goods, the same aircraft
proceeded and arrived Casiguran
Airport at around 9:25 a.m.
and continued the delivery of relief goods.
Canaya said the relief operations was also supervised by
local government unit officials with Interior and Local Government Secretary
Mel Senen Sarmiento, Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Jullano-Soliman and
Office of Civil Defense Under Secretary Alexander P. Pama.
Also, the second C-130 arrived Baler Airport
at 9:50 a.m. with 660 family food packs, 1,680 blankets, 1,968 sack mosquito
nets, 270 malong and other necessities.
