From the Sun Star-Zamboanga (Jun 24): Policemen arrest NPA rebel
POLICE have arrested a suspected New People's Army (NPA) rebel for murder in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.
Senior Superintendent Sofronio Ecaldre, Zamboanga del Sur police director, said Roger Najini, a resident of Pugwan village, Mahayag town, was nabbed around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Purok 1 in the village of Pugwan by operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch and Mahayag policemen.
He said Najini has a standing warrant of arrest for murder issued by the court of Sindangan, Zamboanga del Norte.
Najini was positively identified as member of the Natarang Guirella ng Kara of the NPA's Western Mindanao Regional Party Committee, he added.
