The Armed forces in the Philippines through the Special Forces (SF) Batallion of the Philippine Army based in Magsaysay, Bilar, Bohol has maximized the holding of various civic actions even as the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) marked its 46th anniversary the other day.

 In a radio program aired over Station DYTR yesterday afternoon, a certain Sgt. Bautista and his program co-anchor bragged of the various civic actions undertaken by the SF battalion in Bohol under Lt. Col. Potenciano Camba.

 Just this week, SF elements undertook medical missions including circumcision, coastal clean up drive in various communities as well as attending Christmas parties initiated in different in the barangay including one held in Lundag, Pilar.

 The said radio program also disclosed that the soldiers also conducted bible-sharing activities to local residents in their field. These efforts, according to Bautista are geared towards the AFP’s peace advocacy.

 Meanwhile, in front of a big stage in a coconut-farming community in Surigao del Sur, thousands of members and supporters of the Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) gathered to celebrated its 46th anniversary and to conduct a Mindanao-wide peace consultation.

 Fidel Agcaoili of the National Democratic Front (NDF), which is the CPP’s political arm, addressed the crowd and received a copy of the Mindanao peace agenda presented by people’s organizations.

 Jorge Madlos a.k.a “Ka Oris”, NDF spokesman said that the CPP’s supporters and members has “to brave the AFP’s (Armed Forces of the Philippines) attempts not to let them pass through”.

The CPP Central Committee has issued an anniversary statement entitled “The tide of revolution rises in the Philippines as the chronic crisis of the ruling system worsens”.

Ka Oris said that said the New People’s Army (NPA), armed wing of the CPP, staged more than 300 tactical offensives, confiscated hundreds of firearms and inflicted casualties of more than a battalion on the AFP in 2014.

“We have maintained the 46 guerrilla fronts despite the relentless fascist attacks by the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines), which has now more than 55 infantry battalions engaged in counter-revolutionary suppression campaigns in Mindanao. Not one front was destroyed by the enemy,” he said.
