From ABS-CBN (Dec 27): 3 killed in Maguindanao ambush
Three persons were killed after unidentified riding in tandem gunmen armed with high powered firearms ambushed them in Barangay Lower Salbu, Datu Saudi Ampatuan Maguindanao past 7 p.m. Friday.
6th Infantry Division Spokesperson Capt. Joan Petinglay said the victims have yet to identified.
The victims - two males and one female - were on board a Toyota Corolla car with plate number TEM 896 en route to Datu Piang when ambushed by the armed lawless group.
According to the report of the military, the vehicle is registered under the name of a certain Niel Raniel Joson, a resident of Ulas, Davao City.
Authorities brought the victims to Maguindanao Provincial Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival by the doctors.
The police and the military said motive behind the ambush remains unknown.
