An official of education department of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao told the graduating Moro secondary school students to “be part in the making of Bangsamoro government” during a commencement exercises.
Speaking before the Moro students of Datu Paglas National High School who were to receive their high school diploma on March 29, 2014, Bae Meriam A. Kawit, Al Hadja, Schools Division Superintendent Maguindanao I Division, urged the young Moro to continue pursuing higher degree of education for they will become future servants of the Bangsamoro people.
Kawit said education is vital factor that contributes to the development of the people and communities.
She related the recent signing of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) in Malacanang Palace on March 27, 2014 that will pave way for the creation of the Bangsamoro Government.
The schools division superintendent further told the graduates to thank and honor their parents who have been supportive in their educational undertaking and very hopeful for the bright future of their children.
The Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) is currently fast tracking the crafting of Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL). The body has been conducting consultations with various stakeholders to draw recommendations for the inclusive making of the basic law.
The CAB is the basis in the making of BBL which will create the Bangsamoro autonomous region. The BBL will be subject to the approval of Congress.
On the day of CAB signing, the Bangsamoro people in many parts of the country rejoiced, full of hope that the document will bring the realization of their aspiration for self-governance.
