We celebrate the 45th anniversary of the New People's Army by calling on the Filipino workers and people to join the revolutionary armed struggle against the US-Aquino regime and the entire anti-people semi-colonial, semi-feudal system.
Despite the regime's attempt to portray itself as the best in recent Philippine history, it has unwittingly shown to the Filipino workers and people the truth that to rebel is justified! To advance the revolutionary armed struggle is justified!
Faced with the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression and the emergence of China and Russia as imperialist rivals, US imperialism is working to intensify its plunder of the world's resources and launch more wars of aggression.
Working with the puppet Aquino regime, US imperialism is pushing for changes in the Philippines' 1987 Constitution to allow 100% foreign ownership of lands and other businesses and for the return of US military bases in the country.
Puppet president Noynoy Aquino has increasingly exposed himself as a defender of the country's corrupt pork barrel system, as criminally negligent of Filipinos who were victimized by super typhoon Yolanda, and as anti-poor and anti-worker.
There is growing discontent over chronic unemployment, soaring prices, cutbacks in wages, contractualization of work forces, demolition of urban poor communities, and privatization of social services amidst claims of "economic growth."
The US-Aquino regime has increasingly shown its fascist character, especially amidst mounting protests and impending actions for its ouster. Under Oplan Bayanihan, it has carried out various violations of trade-union and human rights.
It has shown no sincerity in holding peace talks with the National Democratic Front, as highlighted by the illegal arrest and detention of peace consultants Benito Tiamzon and Wilma Austria. Its approach to the armed insurgency is highly militaristic.
Filipino workers are suffering from the regime's Cheap Labor Policy. Together with the Filipino people, they are showing increasing eagerness to fight for their rights, form unions, and further strengthen the revolutionary trade-union movement.
In this context, we are calling on the Filipino workers and people to fight for their rights and for genuine freedom and democracy for the country. Let us join the revolutionary armed struggle! Let us join the people's army that is the NPA!
The semi-colonial and semi-feudal system ruled by imperialists, compradors and hacienderos cannot be made pro-poor and pro-worker. We need to forcibly overthrow the ruling classes and set up a democratic coalition government.
In this light, we hail the NPA, the Communist Party of the Philippines which leads the NPA, their cadres and members, and revolutionary martyrs for gaining victories in the Filipino people's struggle for national freedom, democracy and socialism.
Long live the New People's Army!
