Two suspected members of the Moro National Liberation Front were arrested in Zamboanga City.

The military became suspicious as the two men were carrying guns. The two, however, denied they were members of the rebel group.

Residents panicked and quickly fled Brgy. Canelar after gunshots were heard.

So far, three policemen and soldiers and two civilians were confirmed dead since the fighting started early Monday. Eight MNLF members were reportedly dead, seven of which are yet to be confirmed.
