From InterAksyon (Sep 11): AUDIO | No declaration of ceasefire yet - AFP
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) denied that a ceasefire has already been declared this morning between the government and the Moro National Liberation Front in Zamboanga City.
The military also said it is not true that MNLF reinforcements have already arrived in Zamboanga City and that they have contained the rebel group's number to 180 in four barangays. The AFP also said they have also identified where these rebels are located.
Meanwhile, refugees continue to seek shelter in evacuation centers as the fighting enters its third day.
Five hundred civilians, mostly women and children, from Rio Hondo arrived in front of the city hall on foot. They said the military is set to conduct clearing operations against the Nur Misuari faction of the MNLF in their area
The military advised them to leave their homes so that they would not be taken hostage and used as human shields by the Muslim rebels, similar to what happened on Monday.
