From the Philippine News Agency (May 23): 2 rebel returnees get P100,000 aid from Davao del Norte prov'l gov't

Two former members of the New People's Army (NPA) were given P50,000 worth of cash assistance by the Davao Del Norte provincial government Thursday morning.

The two are former members of the Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda, Guerilla Front 34, Southern Mindanao Regional Command.

Davao del Norte Gov. Rodolfo Del Rosario personally handed the checks to Dante Miranda, 40, of Andam, Laac, Compostela Valley province and Jessie Casium, a resident of Poblacion Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

He urged them to use the money in getting better livelihood opportunities for their families.

Miranda and Casium surrendered to 60th Infantry Battalion in February and August of 2011, respectively.
