From the Philippine Information Agency (Nov 7): Highland soldiers conduct 'bayanihan' activities in Ifugao

The military based in the province dubbed as “highland soldiers” reported the conduct of series of "bayanihan" activities in some schools in coordination with the host communities. Lieutenant Colonel Emilio Pajarillo, commanding officer of the 86th Infantry Battalion, 5th Infantry Division (ID) said that activities like “brigada eskwela” and community services were conducted in the schools and barangays of Aguinaldo, Asipulo, Kiangan, and Tinoc. “We are conducting continuous brigada eskwela activities in these schools and other schools in the province that need help from our troops,” Pajarillo stated. He also explained that they had recommended three schools from the municipalities of Aguinaldo, Kiangan and Tinoc to the Northern Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and Sagip Kapamilya of ABS-CBN for assistance that would help the said learning institutions. Pajarillo also disclosed that their troops are also conducting peace and development activities in the different communities in coordination to barangay and municipal officials.
