From InterAksyon (Nov 7): Army troops clash with NPA in Sorsogon
Army troops clashed with 20 New People's Army guerrillas in Sorsogon early Wednesday, police said. Superintendent Renato Bataller, Bicol police spokesman, said a company of the 31st Infantry Battalion on a “strike operation” encountered the rebels in Sitio Marinas, Barangay Boton, Casiguran at 5 a.m. The rebels retreated after 20 minutes. No government casualties were reported. Bataller said policemen in nearby areas were ordered to be on the alert.
