IMPASUGONG, BUKIDNON. September 2- The Malaybalay City Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (CTF-ELCAC) strengthens its ties and partnership with the Indigenous Peoples (IP) communities during the Upper Pulangi Tribal Council Meeting held at Barangay Caburacanan, Malaybalay City, Bukidnon on August 27, 2020.

In line with its theme: “Tumbasa Daw Bigola,” a Higaonon term which means strengthening the common ideas, laws, plans, projects, and activities beneficial to the tribal community. The said meeting aims to consolidate issues and concerns of the IP communities, their plans to empower and enhance the capability of their organization, plans for future development, and ultimately to have a mutual understanding and unified peace effort in ending local communists armed conflict.
Datu Renato Sumbungan, also known as Datu Makayuba, Indigenous People Mandatory Representative (IPMR) of Malaybalay City thanked all the attendees. He said “Kini nga kalihukan nahimog talagsaon pinaagi sa presensya sa atong mga bisita kung diin tinuod na maka dayig ug maminaw sa atong mga pangamoyo ug mga plano para sa kauswagon sa atong komuninidad. Sa mga lider sa tribo, atong ipakita atong panaghiusa ug suporta sa gobyerno.” (This activity becomes more remarkable by the presence of our guest who can truly appreciate and listen to our supplication and plans for the development of our community. To the Tribal Leaders, let show our unity and support to the government.)

“Isip bahin sa CTF-ELCAC nga na hiuyon sa Whole-of-the-Nation, kini nga yunit uban ang tanan mga ahensya nga anaa dri karon aron suportahan ang inyong mga plano ug mga programa alang sa pag uswag sa mga lumad sa komunidad” said LTC Edgardo V Talaroc Jr, Commanding Officer of 8th Infantry Battalion. (As part of the CTF-ELCAC and in line with the Whole-of-the-Nation Approach, this unit together with all agencies here today are committed to support your plans and programs for the development of your IP community.)

“Among pangayuon inyong suporta, inyong kasing-kasing, ang inyong huna-huna. Among pangayuon – suportahan ninyo ang tinuod na gobyerno sa Pilipinas, ang gobyerno nga mutabang sa mga tao kay ang tinood na gobyerno.” Talaroc ended. (We wholeheartedly ask for your support and embrace the only one and true Philippine Government. The government that will heed your concerns is the true government.)

The different government agencies that were present showed their commitment, laid their projects and programs, and committed to take appropriate actions in response to the concerns of the IP community.
