CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Apr. 24 (PIA) – Assistance continue to reach vulnerable sectors in the province during this period of enhanced community quarantine thru the 1st Kalinga Mobile Force Company’s (1stKPMFC) best practice project “KaBADANG” and the Youth for Peace Philippines - Cordillera Youth Brigade (YPP-CYB).

PLt. Ruff Manganip of the 1stKPMFC said half of the 30 vulnerable families in four selected barangays of Lucog, Bagumbayan, Bulo and Bulanao received relief assistance Thursday. Distribution of 10 kilos rice, assorted groceries, vegetable seeds and T-shirts to the remaining half continues today. The money spent to buy the food stuff and grocery goods came from contributions of personnel.



This KaBADANG” gift-giving activity was started in 2016 by the Kalinga Provincial Police Safety Company as a way of reaching out to vulnerable sectors including children..

Kagawad Charlene Colangan Malaga of Lucog expressed her gratitude to the Police force saying the relief assistance is of great help to their neighbors who can hardly provide the needs of their families this time of crisis.

In a related development, the 1st PKMFC and the 503rd Infantry Brigade are supporting the Youth for Peace Philippines - Cordillera Youth Brigade distribute relief goods including milk to differently-abled persons and elders this ECQ period.

Manganip said the CYB’s “Piso Mo, Pangtawid Gutom Ko” has reached out to 40 of their more than 100 target recipients in barangays Gobgob, Sitio Basao, Bayabat at Dilag, Dupag, Hilltop and Bulanao, also all of this city. Relief goods provided to the beneficiaries were sourced out from a dozen of local sponsors and from Overseas Filipino Workers.

Miss Kalinga 2019 Lyka Bucalen Dalanao , who is at present an Ambassadress for Peace, thanked in behalf of YPP-CYB their donors assuring them also of their commitment to continue serve the needy sector.
