BANTON, Romblon, January 3 (PIA) -- The municipal police station in this town together with the local government unit and barangay officials headed by Mayor Milagros Faderanga conducted an indignation rally on December 27, to condemn the anti-people activities of the Communist Party of the Philippines - New People’s Army - National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) around the country.

The activity started with a parade around town followed by a short program held at the lobby of the town's Municipal Hall.

During her speech, Banton mayor Faderanga, also the End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC) Chairman of this town, urges participants to strongly denounce all forms of violence, terrorism, and atrocities that impede peace and order, and development to the communities.

She also added that the members of the CPP-NPA-NDF were declared as "persona non grata" in the island through a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Bayan in 2019.

In his speech, Police Captain Chisi Faderagao of Banton Municipal Police Station, thanked the local government unit of Banton for supporting the programs of President Rodrigo Duterte's administration to stop terrorism in the country.

He also ensured the public that there is no presence of CPP-NPA-NDF in the island, the reason why Romblon province was declared as insurgency-free province. (PJF/PIA-Mimaropa/Romblon)
