WESTMINCOM: Firearms recovered at enemy camp in Sultan Kudarat

Troops of 37th Infantry Battalion while scouring and searching the previous seized communist terrorist camp in Sitio Kuden, Brgy Batang Baglas, Palimbang, Sultan Kudarat recovered high powered firearms on November 16, 2019 at 11 in the morning.



Recovered were two M16 rifles, one improvised M79 and one Cal .22 rifle.

“We do believed that after we overrun the enemy camp last October 24 of this year, there are still firearms that has been hide in the area,” said Ltc Roberto Go Jr, Commanding Officer, 37th Infantry Battalion.

Report said that enemy encampment contains more or less 100 bunkers made of indigenous materials; foxholes; classrooms/multi-purpose structures with chairs and improvised blackboard; obstacle courses; documents; and tourniquet.

Colonel Wilbur C. Mamawag, Commander of the 603rd Infantry Brigade commended the troops of 37th Infantry Battalion for another successful security operation that resulted to the recovery of firearms.

Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana, commander of the Western Mindanao Command said, “the Regional Task Force to End Local Armed Conflict (RTF-ELAC) continuously gain grounds against the communist terrorists in South Central Mindanao.”

“This likewise, manifests that the strong coordination and communication among the local folks and the other stakeholders with the AFP, ensures the end of terrorism and lawlessness,” the commander added.
