VIGAN CITY, Ilocos Sur, Nov. 17 (PIA) – The Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) reiterated its warning to pension beneficiaries against engaging the services of fixers to facilitate the speedy release of their benefits in exchange for a fee.
Victoria Antiporda, head of the PVAO Field Service Extension Office (FSEO)-Batac, advised veterans, their widows and members of their families to transact only with PVAO offices and personnel for them not to fall prey to fixers.
“If you have queries, come to our office rather than transacting with a person you don’t know yet assures you that your benefits will move fast if you will pay,” she said during the Dap-ayan Ilocos Sur media forum of the Philippine Information Agency held on Friday.
For the welfare and protection of PVAO pensioners, she also reminded them to submit the Pensioner’s Update Form annually on their birth month to avoid the suspension of payment of their pension benefits.
Meanwhile, Antiporda is elated for the Best FSEO Award in the country received by the PVAO FSEO-Batac recently for its exceptional performance, best management practices and initiatives undertaken in the region in serving the Filipino veterans and their families. (AMB/PIA Ilocos Sur)
