TACLOBAN CITY, Nov. 23 (PIA) --The operationalization of EO 70 is in full swing at the regional, provincial and local levels in Eastern Visayas.
This could be glimpsed at the November 22 activity of the Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support (PLEDS) Cluster of the Pinabacdao Municipal Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
As part of the activities of the PLEDS Cluster of the MTF- ELCAC Pinabacdao, troops of 46th Infantry Battalion together with PNP and DepEd personnel headed by Dr. Lauro Gacusana, Secondary School Principal I, conducted "Campus Peace Awareness Symposium" to the students of Quintin Quijano Sr Agricultural School (QQSAS) in Barangay Mambog, Pinabacdao Samar.
The activity was a convergence of multi agencies aimed at helping the youth, specifically the in-school students, to refrain from joining movements that are connected with the New People’s Army.
The information drive sought to enhance the awareness of the students/youth to prevent them from being exploited by the CTGs and to have a better future since they are one of the most vulnerable sector of our society.
It was an occasion to enlighten the youth about the deceptions and lies of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTGs) that abuses the rights of the minors.
More importantly, the activity was an opportunity to make the students realize that they have a active role in attaining peace and development in Pinabacdao. (PIA 8 with data from 46th IB)
