From Panay News (Sep 6, 2019): Capiz-based NPA member surrenders
ILOILO City –A suspected member of the New People’s Army (NPA) has voluntarily surrendered to government troops in Barangay Supanga, Calinog, Iloilo.
The rebel – resident of Barangay Sia, Tapaz, Capiz – was known in the aliases “Rico”, “Ben” and “Ranger.”
He surrendered to the operatives of 606th Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion-6 (RMFB-6) on Sept. 3.
According to 606th company intelligence personnel, “Rico” is a member of Kaloy Squad, Igabon Platoon, under the Central Front under the leadership of Francisco Balois Alias “Ka Tonying.”
According to Rico, he surrendered because they do not get the food and salary promised to them. His relatives also pushed him to surrender.
The NPA surrenderer was held under the custody of 606th company for proper disposition.
