CAMP SANG-AN, Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur – One local terrorist member voluntarily surrendered to Army’s 82nd Infantry Battalion in Brgy Bubong Madanding, Marantao, Lanao del Sur 3:00 p.m. Thursday, September 5, 2019.

“Based on our initial custodial debriefing,
the surrenderor revealed that he was recruited by a certain Alias ABU ANAS, a Dawlah Islamiyah/ Maute Group member”, said Lt. Col. Rafman Altre, 82nd Infantry Battalion commander.

The local terrorist member also yielded one caliber .45 and one shotgun.


Custodial debriefing is still on-going as of this posting.

Around 11:00 a.m. today, five drug dealers surrendered to 49th Infantry Battalion in Masiu, Lanao del Sur.

The surrendered personalities also yielded loose firearms such as three handguns, one improvised rifle grenade, magazines and ammunitions.

According to Brig. Gen. Romeo Brawner Jr., 103rd Infantry Brigade Commander, who has operational jurisdiction of Lanao del Sur “We encourage local terrorist groups and their supporters to surrender and submit themselves to the folds of the law in order to make their community peaceful”.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Roberto Ancan, the 1st Infantry Division and Joint Task Force Zampelan (Zamboanga Peninsula and Lanao Provinces) commander, commended the efforts of the troops for the successful surrender of drug dealers and local terrorist member.

“Your 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, remains steadfast in its commitment to attain just and lasting peace in our area of operation thru our campaign against local terrorist groups, lawless armed groups and loose firearms,” said Ancan.

“Likewise, we thank the local government and other stakeholders for their continued trust and support to our troops in contributing peace and development in the whole province of Lanao del Sur,” Ancan added.
