Posted to Kalinaw News (Aug 20, 2019): Army holds writing workshop for the People’s Organization

MARAMAG, Bukidnon – 88th Infantry “Maringal” Battalion in partnership with Mindanao Service Cooperative For Genuine Development Inc. successfully facilitated a one-day writing workshop for People’s Organization (PO) with 280 participants at Barangay Butong and Merangeran, Quezon, Bukidnon on August 17-18, 2019.

The said seminar-workshop aimed to widen and improve the knowledge and skills of the PO’s in planning and crafting project proposals which were beneficial to the community with limited ideas about it.

One of the PO’s who actively participated in the said workshop conducted by Ms. Terry Bangal, correspondent of Bukidnon Mindanao Media, Gold Star Daily was the group of Merangeran Multi-Sectoral Grass ruts Association (MEMUSECGA) of brgy. Merangeran who crafted sample project proposals.

Hon. Nehru Tan, Punong Barangay of Butong, expressed his gratitude in his statement, “Our PO’s were indeed innocent of crafting project proposals – as they were not formally introduced into such tecnhical writing. But I am filled with gratitude – especially to the AFP – who initiated a seminar-workshop like this for our PO’s. This was indeed a big help in the improvement of the said organization.”

Mr. Joel Bernasor, DOLE representative, Guest Speaker, empowered the PO members in his speech, “You have brilliant ideas – unique projects from the resources you have. You have the rich and tangible resources to come up with innovations that will showcase your creativity, skills, and culture. Please continue to make products that introduce your culture to the market. Do not kill the traditional designs in your products. Instead, improve and innovate more. This seminar and workshop are not just about crafting your proposals but also an avenue to think of creative innovations that could make your community known in the market.”

Lt. Col. Franklin F. Fabic, Commanding Officer of 88IB also encouraged the participants in his message “Your community is really rich in tangible resources and you have infinite ideas to innovate these resources into something useful. Think outside the box – see these resources as outputs you want them to be and apply what you have learned in this seminar-workshop in crafting your proposals. Include your family and community in the objectives, for the progress of this nation starts in the family that will ripple in the community – and with a progressive community, peace will also be achieved.”
