From the Philippine Star (Aug 1, 2019): 39 rebel returnees fly to Hong Kong for holiday
DAVAO CITY, Philippines — At least 39 former New People’s Army rebels left for Hong Kong on Tuesday for a vacation.
President Duterte promised the Hong Kong trip during a recent meeting with the rebel returnees. The 1001st Infantry Brigade said most of the rebel returnees are from Macao, Compostela Valley.
The former rebels are expected to tour famous tourist spots in Hong Kong, including Disneyland. They are set to return to the country tomorrow.
