From GMA News Online (Jul 31, 2019): Suspected Abu Sayyaf member killed in Tawi-Tawi clash
A suspected Abu Sayyaf member was killed during a counter-terrorism operations in Barangay Batu-Batu, Panglima Sugala in Tawi-Tawi on July 29.
On Wednesday, the military identified the suspected local terrorist as Salip Ardi, who had a standing warrant of arrest for multiple murder.
Security forces seized one caliber .45 pistol, one magazine loaded with live ammunition and an improvised gun in the area of the encounter.
The military said the operation became successful due to the support of local residents who had identified local terrorists in the area.
