BARANGAY MILEB, Radjah Buayan, Maguindanao (DWDD) – Personnel of Alpha Company of the 40th Infantry “Magiting” Battalion (40IB) based at Radjah Buayan, Maguindanao while conducting checkpoint, intercepted 27 members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) under a certain Commander Orly Gampong of the 106th Base Command, Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF).
The said MILF group were on board a yellow elf with no plate number bound for Barangay Papakan, Sultan sa Barongis , Maguindanao.
Authorities were able to confiscate from them 17 units of M16 rifles, 5 units of M14 rifles, and 1 unit cal .30 Browning Automatic Rifle.
Police Chief Superintendent Graciano J Mijares, Regional Director, Police Regional Office- Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) said that the incident is now under investigation.
The MILF members were turned over by Col Edgar Catu, 4IB Commander to Salahudin Angeles, team leader Joint Ceasefire Monitoring Post (JCMP) and Col Cesar de Mesa GPH-AHJAG while firearms are now in the custody of 40IB for proper disposition.
Recently, an encounter erupted between the MILF 105th and 106th Base Command. AES / ALS
