CAMP MELCHOR F DELA CRUZ, Gamu, Isabela (DWDD) – A Communist NPA Terrorist (CNT) member with standing warrant of arrest for attempted murder was arrested by the joint elements of the 50th Infantry ”Defender” Battalion under the 5th Infantry Division and Lubuagan Municipal Police Station during the conduct of Law Enforcement Operation at So Dugong, Brgy Lower Uma, Lubuagan, Kalinga in the morning of February 21, 2018.

The apprehended CNT member was identified as Sabas Balcanao also known as Solo, under the Abraham Bannawagan Command, Kilusang Larangan Guerilla- Baggas, a CNT Group responsible in the series of atrocities happened in the past months in the Province of Kalinga.

According to Lt Col Ruben Guinolbay, Battalion Commander, 50IB, they brought the apprehended CNT member at Lubuagan MPS for the mugshot, medical examination and proper documentation.

Meanwhile, BGen Perfecto M Rimando Jr, Commander, 5ID commended the troops for the successful arrest of another CNT member. “I commend the men behind the success of the said Law Enforcement Operation. We will not stop until all the CNT members in our area of responsibility have surrendered or neutralized.” BGen Rimando Jr said.

“Despite our aggressive operation against the different CNT groups in our area of responsibility, we are not closing our doors to those CNT members who wished to return to the folds of the law.” BGen Rimando Jr, added. 5DPAO/MCAG
