MILF: EKCI conducts Islamic Leadership Symposium

Posted to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front Website (Aug 24): EKCI conducts Islamic Leadership Symposium

BULUAN, MAGUINDANAO --- Eastern Kutawato College Incorporated (EKCI) conducted a whole day Islamic Leadership Symposium with the theme “Elevating Bangsamoro Governance through In-depth Understanding of Leadership in Islamic Perspective” last August 22, 2017 at EKCI Campus.
Sheik Hisham S. Nando, EKII President, and BLMI Steering Committee Member emphasized that any good organization is a source of good leadership. “An organization run by competent, efficient and highly skilled managers is a good training ground for ordinary members to develop their leadership capability and competence”, Nando added.

“If you are a manager or a leader, that means you are being trusted, but along the way you face all forms of challenges in your daily work. It is a challenge on how one can perform and sustain his/her official responsibility and enhance his/her leadership skills’’, he further said.

Professor Esmael A. Abdula, Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI) Steering Committee Member, Concurrently President of Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute (KPI), stressed that Bangsamoro Governance is anchored on the ‘Principle of Islamic Leadership’ which is the foundation of the Bangsamoro Muslims in their quest for peace, socio-economic and political development. In other words, they solely anchor on ‘Islamic Leadership’ in achieving their goal towards right to self-determination (RSD).

”Training on Islamic Leadership for the Bangsamoro youth is a must and equally important to prepare them as future leaders of the upcoming Bangsamoro New Political Entity.

The Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has signed two major political documents, the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB) and the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) that embodies self-governance for the Bangsamoro people”, Abdula pointed out.

“A comprehensive, long lasting political solution to the Moro problem in Mindanao through the passage of a CAB-Compliant Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) is the only way to the correct historical injustices done to the Moro people’, Abdula emphasized.
