CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has assured the public that soldiers’ coming out of the main battle area in Marawi undergoes proper debriefing before they are allowed to go back to their family.

This was the statement made by the AFP after a soldier, on-leave after being assigned in Marawi, was killed two by two (2) policemen because he was allegedly looking and acting strangely in Zamboanga del Sur.

According to AFP spokesperson BGen Restituto Padilla, all soldiers involved in any operations in Marawi automatically undergoes debriefing to ensure that they are not suffering from battle stress.

Padilla added that more than three hundred soldiers have voluntarily returned to the main battle area after recuperating from wounds sustained in previous encounters.

Lastly, there are just a few noted cases of soldiers experiencing combat stress, although they have been given a clean bill of health and mind before they are allowed to go back to their families. AES / ALS / MCAG
