Posted to DWDD AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (Jul 19): TEAM WESCOM | Continue Focused & CMO despite roadside bomb incident
PALAWAN (DWDD) – Despite the roadside bomb incident that wounded a Marine soldier Tuesday afternoon in the municipality of Bataraza and the killing of 2 Marines this Wednesday morning in Roxas, Team WESCOM shall continue with its focused and Civil Military Operations in Palawan in order to support and protect its peace and development.
Team WESCOM also denounces the CPP-NPA-NDF’s use of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) as a shameful and gutless act that can’t be anything more than placing the lives of innocent civilians in the area in grave danger.
The CPP-NPA-NDF has always been like this – a violator of international humanitarian laws by using roadside IEDs from past to present – if it is already losing against government efforts that ensure civilians do not get enticed anymore by their depraved philosophies.
The roadside bombing incident that this communist-terrorist group perpetrated, but sad to say, failed to produce major damages to government troops, as well as the killing of our 2 Marines from the 12th Marine Battalion, were even more a hard blow to their ranks following our takeover of their training camp in Samariñana, Brooke’s Point.
They are now desperate because Team WESCOM’s civil military operations are winning and continuously building stronger ties in many communities in the province.
The Marine who was injured in Tarusan, Bataraza by their cowardly act is now recuperating well, and is thanking residents in the area for providing them help.
On the otherhand, the names of the 2 Marines who were killed are withheld until the next of kin have been informed. The two were brutally shot near a wet market in Brgy Magara in Roxas, Palawan.
