The AFP's Joint Task Group-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR)
has deployed six crowd control companies and other assets to secure the first
ever State-of-the-Nation-Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte
Monday.
Other JTF-NCR assets deployed include eight K-9 teams, eight
explosive ordnance disposal teams, five ambulance-medics teams, a platoon of
quick reaction force, three special recon teams, one CBRNE (chemical,
biological, radiological and nuclear defense) platoon;
One mass casualty decontamination unit, a rescue helicopter,
a air ambulance, two combat utility helicopters, a air traffic controller team,
a communication van, and a rapid deployment force with armor units, JTF-NCR
acting commander Col. Vic Tomas said.
He added these units will support the PNP in its mission to
secure the occasion.
Tomas said all military units, delegated to SONA support
missions, were placed in red alert as of midnight.
