DOJ junks illegal drugs rap vs. Marine officer Marcelino

From Update.Ph (Jun 21): DOJ junks illegal drugs rap vs. Marine officer Marcelino

The Department of Justice (DOJ) on Tuesday dismissed the complaint involving illegal drugs which was filed by the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency (PDEA) against Marine Lt. Col. Ferdinand L. Marcelino.

Marcelino was arrested by operatives of the PDEA and the Philippine National Police-Anti Illegal Drugs Group (PNP-AIDG) during a raid in Sta. Cruz, Manila last January.

Marcelino was charged with a complaint for violation of Sections 11 and 26 of Republic Act No. 9165, or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002”, pertaining to the manufacturing and possession, and conspiracy in the manufacturing of illegal drugs.

However, in the resolution signed by Senior Deputy State Prosecutor Theodore Villanueva, the DOJ found no probable cause in the complaint filed against Marcelino.
