DWDD: IN COMMAND | COMELEC Chairman Andres Bautista met with AFP Area Commanders thru a teleconference

From DWDD the AFP Civil Relations Service Radio Website (May 7): IN COMMAND | COMELEC Chairman Andres Bautista met with AFP Area Commanders thru a teleconference

CAMP GEN EMILIO AGUINALDO, Quezon City (DWDD) – “….orderly, honest and credible. And I think this is where the Armed Forces, the PNP and the COMELEC share a joint objective. We are supposed to be non-partisan, we are neutral, we are here to implement and effect the will of the majority. That we allow people to campaign, we allow people to present their flatforms, their discussions on important issues facing the nation in the hope that our people, our voters are informed about whom they think should be the best leader both in the national and the local. But after all is said and done, we at COMELEC are duty bound to respect the will of the majority. That regardless of our personal positions, our role really is ministerial.

Kailangan na kailangan natin yun, and in the end, I know also that after the processes provided by law are followed then it is now the responsibility of the Armed Forces together with the PNP to keep the peace and maintain law and order and, hopefully, this will further strengthen our democratic processes. So, maraming salamat po sa inyong tulong para siguraduhin na magiging maayos, mapayapa at kapanipaniwala and ating darating na halalan. Maraming salamat General Miranda.”
